Monterey certainly hasn’t been the same since COVID-19 rocked the world in 2020. Obviously, we saw a huge reduction in listings that year (with many auctions being cancelled, and a few moving online), and the numbers haven’t caught up to pre-pandemic levels since then. This year, Russo & Steele has cancelled their Monterey Auction and Broad Arrow is bringing its inaugural auction to the peninsula. And with online auctions continuing to play a big role in the market, Monterey 2022 will be one that the entire industry will be watching closely as a gauge for the market as a whole.
