Wherever possible, we invite the whole immediate family to share in the wish, to experience moments of joy and make memories to last a lifetime. We have granted over 3,250 Wishes in Ireland, and every wish is unique.
We welcome queries from parents/guardians/medical professionals or children themselves but the application MUST be completed by the Parent/legal guardian of the child
We grant one wish for a child, who must be aged 3 - 17, living with a critical illness and resident in Ireland. The child’s treating consultant makes the final determination on medical eligibility to receive and participate in the Wish.
Once eligibility is approved, the wish making process is child-led. Our Wishgranting and Volunteering team will support the wish child and family on their wish journey.
Once a child’s wish is approved and authorised by the treating consultant and Make-A-Wish Ireland, the Wishgranting team set out to make it come true and create a magical wish experience for the child that will last a lifetime.
Meet Darragh (7) who was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia. (ALL) His wish was to be a Zookeeper…
Meet Lauren from Limerick. Lauren is living with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia and wished for an iPad for college.
Our wishes give seriously ill children the chance to do something extraordinary. For many children, a wish is an opportunity to do something they never thought possible when life is tough. Children’s wishes can range from being a princess for a day or meeting their hero.
